Welcome back and Happy New Year! We hope that your holidays were merry, happy and bright. It is hard to believe that we will soon be half way through our school year. The children are doing very well and we will continue to emphasize curriculum items to help them grow both academically and socially. With Christmas behind us we will begin our winter activities and include more fun ways to learn numbers, letters, shapes and colors. We will focus on what happens in winter in the world outside our window. Please refer to your handbook for our delay/cancellation schedule as winter weather approaches. We will also keep you posted using the remind APP.
As we prepare for our discussion of winter, winter activities and hibernation, we will hibernate as well. Our annual Pajama Party will be on Wednesday, January 29th. The children should wear their PJs and slippers or socks to school and bring a pillow and small blanket. This is a fun day for all! In the event of a school cancellation, the PJ party will be held on the next school day Monday, February 3rd.
We will begin preliminary testing this month to check your child’s progress. This paperwork will remain in your child’s folder for review on Conference Day, Monday February 24th. If you need an early morning appointment (before 9 AM) or are unable to attend on that day please contact us. If necessary we can schedule a telephone conference. Conferences last twenty minutes and your time will be noted in our February newsletter. We will be screening our students using the Brigance Preschool Screen.
Registration forms for our returning students will be available on Conference Day and on the hall bulletin board. If your child is returning, you must re-register. Also,
please ask for our Federal ID# if you are taking a childcare credit.
Please feel free to contact us with any question or concerns. Remember that our doors are locked from 9:15-11:15 and again from 12:45-2:45. For entry otherwise call us on our cell phones (nos. on calendar side of this newsletter).

PS This information regards the PM class only. Please note that we have two new students joining us, thus our enrollment number now is 15. You will receive those names and addresses on a new spreadsheet.
West Hempfield Preschool does make use of the Remind app.
It is not necessary, but parents may want to sign up to receive occasional reminders from the teachers.
