Dear Parents,
Welcome Back and Happy New Year 2025!!! I hope that your holidays were merry, happy and bright and you enjoyed the time with your families and friends! It is hard to believe that we will soon be halfway through our school year. The children are doing very well and I will continue to emphasize curriculum items to help them grow both academically and socially. With Christmas behind us we will begin our winter activities and include more fun ways to learn. We will focus on what happens in the winter in the world outside our window. When the world outside our window involves school cancellations or delays please refer to your handbook for that information. A reminder that I follow the same snow delay and cancellation policy as Hempfield Area School District. I will also try and send out a Remind as early as I know what is going on as well.
As we prepare for our discussion of winter, winter activities, and hibernation, we will hibernate as well. Our annual Pajama Party will be on Wednesday, January 29th. The children should wear their PJs, slippers or socks to school, and they may bring a pillow and small blanket. Pancakes will be served as a snack that day.
I will begin preliminary testing this month to track your child's progress. I test the children by using the Brigance Preschool Screen. This paperwork will remain in your child's folder and their results will be made available to you when I have completed all the testing. Upon reading through the results, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out and I will be more than happy to speak with you. With all that being said, you might not see as many worksheets or crafts go home this month due to testing. Thanks in advance for your understanding!
A big thank you to all our snack/Christmas party helpers for the month of December!! They are always delicious and appreciated!!
